Shanghai-based robotics company with deep expertise in rehabilitation and medical robotics. Fourier is leveraging a decade of healthcare robotics experience to build general-purpose humanoids, with the GR series bridging the gap between medical devices and autonomous robots.
History
Fourier Intelligence was founded in 2015 in Shanghai by Zen Koh, who started the company with a focus on medical rehabilitation robots. For nearly a decade, Fourier built exoskeletons, therapy robots, and assistive devices — shipping thousands of units to hospitals worldwide. This medical heritage proved invaluable when Fourier entered the humanoid space with GR-1 in 2023. Their proprietary FSA actuators (developed for medical precision) deliver exceptional torque in a compact package. The transition from rehab robotics to general-purpose humanoids represents one of the most logical pivots in the industry.
Fourier Intelligence
A research-grade humanoid with deep roots in medical rehabilitation technology. The GR-1 stands 165 cm tall with 40 DOF and FSA high-performance actuators delivering up to 300 N·m torque. Shipping globally to research partners and healthcare institutions. Now succeeded by the GR-2 for next-generation applications, but remains the more battle-tested platform for academic research.
Fourier Intelligence
Fourier's next-generation humanoid standing 175 cm tall with 53 DOF and advanced 12-DOF dexterous hands with tactile sensors. Designed specifically for healthcare environments, GR-2 improves on the GR-1 with enhanced agility, precision manipulation, and a more human-like form factor. Currently in pilot deployments at healthcare facilities focused on rehabilitation and elderly care assistance.
